Putin: Russia to spend 6 tln rbl on road construction in 3 yrs

MOSCOW, Sep 23 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to spend 6 trillion rubles from all sources on the development of a road network in three years, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the senators on Wednesday.

"We plan to spend more than 2.5 trillion rubles on the development of road network in the next three years from the federal budget, taking into account regional road funds this will be about 6 trillion rubles," Putin said.

The president asked the senators to find money for road construction in 2021, to include extra-budgetary funds and infrastructural bonds.

Repairs of several airports, including in the cities of Blagoveshchensk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Stavropol, Orenburg, Novosibirsk and Tomsk will finish in three years, the president said.

Russia must proactively return to the projects of development of the country in 2021, he said. "We must return again to the projects of development, to look ahead, to concentrate on the goals of national development while keeping a conscientious budgetary policy, sustainability of the entire system of state finance and as we will be leaving the consequences of the epidemic behind," Putin said.

He also said that Russia is not critically reliant on oil prices as the share of oil-and-gas revenue is expected to fall to about 33% in 2021 from 50% in 2011.

Russia will continue to support key industries, small business, and will provide social support in full volume, the president said. The introduction of a social contract with federal budget investments at more than 26 billion rubles in the next three years is expected to become a key instrument in fighting poverty.
